Distant Counter is Black Knight's Down special move.
Overview
Black Knight assumes a counterattack stance; what happens if he is hit depends on how far the opponent is from him when the counterattack goes off.
If the opponent is close enough to Black Knight that they can be hit with his sword, he will slash at them with his sword covered in blue fire, launching them away. This attack does 1.2x the damage of the hitbox that triggered it.
If the opponent is not close enough to be hit with his sword, whether that be because the counter was triggered by a projectile or an otherwise long-reaching attack, such as Simon/Richter's forward smash or Min Min's ARMs, he will instead fire a fast-moving projectile straight forward. This projectile deals 8.6%, and travels through opponents.
Instructional quote
| Block and counter an attack. If the counterattack fails to connect, Black Knight will launch a quick projectile in front of him. |
