Blaziken (バシャーモ, Bursyamo) is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and the ninth fighter from the Pokémon series.

Blazken's unknown voice actor from Pokkén Tournament reprises his role as the character, using voice lines recycled from Pokkén Tournament.

Moveset

  • Blaziken has two input command specials, Fire Punch and Lava Plume. By inputting a quarter circle input on the controller (↓ ↘ → ) and then pressing either attack or special, Blaziken will perform Blaze Kick, and then follow it up with Fire Punch, which consists of a flaming haymaker straight forward. By inputting a Shoryuken input instead (→ ↓ ↘) and attack or special, Blaziken will perform Sky Uppercut, and then follow it up with Lava Plume, which causes a giant geyser of flame to surround Blaziken as it suspends itself in midair for a moment.

Note: All numbers are listed as base damage, without the 1v1 multiplier.

  Name Damage Description
Neutral attack 2% Two claw swipes back and forth, followed by a knee to the opponent's chest.
2%
4.5%
Forward tilt 9% A quick spinning roundhouse kick forwards. Can be angled up or down.
Up tilt 1% (initial hit) / 9% (launcher hit) A quick split kick directly upwards. Despite the appearance of the move being a single kick, this move hits twice.
Down tilt 9% A sweeping kick against the ground aimed at the opponent's legs. Sends the opponent at a low angle against the ground.
Dash attack 10% (clean hit), 7% (late hit) A running jump kick. Despite being a grounded move, this move has similar properties and animations to a typical Sex kick.
Forward smash 4.5% (first hit), 12.7% (second hit) Steps forward while swiping its claws downwards, then steps forward again, this time swiping upwards.
Up smash 15% A standing flip kick, with Blaziken's leg covered in flames as it does so. Sends the opponent at an almost perfectly upwards angle, and is quick enough to be used out of shield easily.
Down smash Heat Wave 14% Steps forward and swings both of its claws down on either side of it, its claws covered in fire as it does so. Due to stepping forward as it strikes, it is difficult to hit an opponent behind Blaziken with this move.
Neutral aerial 3.5% (initial hit), 7.5% (final hit) Performs two flaming roundhouse kicks in midair. Hits on both sides of Blaziken, though not at the same time.
Forward aerial 10% A flaming downwards flip kick. Has a sweetspot at the very tip of Blaziken's leg that spikes.
Back aerial 1.5% (hits 1-2) 7% (final hit) A quick series of three kicks behind Blaziken. Only the final hit actually deals any knockback.
Up aerial 10% A flip kick upwards. Similar to Captain Falcon's up air in terms of animation and functionality.
Down aerial 7% Blaziken flips in midair, and then begins falling diagonally downwards with its leg extended. A stall-then-fall aerial, hitting an opponent while travelling spikes them.
Grab Reaches forward with both hands.
Pummel 1% Knees the opponent in the chest, applying a fire effect to the opponent as it does so.
Forward throw 8.5% Takes a small step backwards, and then charges forward with a leaping kick similar to its dash attack, sending the opponent out as it does so.
Back throw 2.5% (first hit), 4.5% (second hit), 4% (ending explosion) Places the opponent behind it, delivers a spinning kick, then twirls around and delivers a second more powerful spinning kick. A fiery explosion launches the opponent away afterwards.
Up throw 3.5% (first hit), 7% (final hit) Holds the opponent in the air, and then causes a fire to burst out in its hands, sending the opponent away with the burst.
Down throw 11.5% Slams the opponent onto the ground, and then performs a frontflip and slams its leg onto the opponent while doing the splits.

Neutral special Blaze Kick 3% (first hit), 12% (second hit) / 16% (Fire Punch) Blaziken covers its legs in fire and kicks forward, then spins around and delivers a second kick, travelling forward slightly with each kick. Doesn't travel very far, going about the distance of a single platform on Battlefield. Only the second kick has any knockback.

If a quarter circle forward input is added to this move, Blaziken will perform Fire Punch afterwards, causing it to shoot forwards with a flaming haymaker after finishing the second kick. Using Fire Punch causes Blaziken to take 6% in recoil damage.

Side special Brave Bird 0.5% (hits 1-14), 7% (final hit) Blaziken flies forward while covered in flames shaped like a bird and leaving a flaming trail behind it. Any opponents hit by the move will be dragged along with Blaziken until it stops moving, at which point they will be launched away. This move does not travel off ledges on the ground. If used in the air, Blaziken will halt its vertical air movement for the duration of the move, making it useful for horizontal recovery. However, Blaziken will be put into special fall afterwards.
Up special Sky Uppercut 11% / 1% (hits 1-9) 7% (final hit) (Lava Plume) Blaziken leaps into the air with a spinning uppercut, its hand covered in flames as it does so. Travels about as high as Captain Falcon's Raptor Boost, and Blaziken can move to the left or right slightly while travelling upwards. If the player inputs up special and then holds the control stick in the opposite direction Blaziken is currently facing, Blaziken will turn around before ascending.

If a Shoryuken input is added to this move, Blaziken will perform Lava Plume at the height of its jump, causing a large geyser of fire to shoot out of the ground underneath Blaziken, and its air movement will halt as it poses inside the geyser. Any opponents caught in the geyser will take multiple hits before being launched away when the geyser disappears.

Down special Acrobatics 3% (initial hit on ground), 1% (dragdown hits in air), 12% (final explosion upon landing) On the ground, Blaziken will perform a leaping knee strike diagonally upwards, launching itself into the air. From here, Blaziken can either perform an aerial, or continue into the second part of the move that triggers when down special is used in the air.

In the air, Blaziken will begin falling diagonally downwards, its entire body covered in flames as it does so. Any opponents it hits will be dragged down with it, until Blaziken reaches the ground, at which point an explosion is triggered at the point Blaziken landed on. Acrobatics' ability to be cancelled into aerials when used on the ground makes it an excellent combo tool.
