Central Highway (ハイウェイステージ, Highway Stage) is a stage in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate from the Mega Man series. It is based on the opening level of Mega Man X.
Stage overview
The stage takes place on a destroyed street, with a large city in the background. Several large red trucks are seen in the background, and Bee Bladers can be seen flying through the sky occasionally, though none of them are interactable. The stage has no soft platforms, and is a walk-off with mostly straight ground, with the exception of the middle area in which a broken piece of the highway is bending at an angle, creating a small pit in the center of the stage.
Ω form and Battlefield form
The Ω form and Battlefield form take place in front of the stage's normal form, with the platforms being made out of the same green metal as the highway in the normal form. The highway from the stage's normal form can be seen in the background, and in these forms, additional enemies can be seen roaming the highway, including Balls De Voux, Gun Volts, and a single Spiky that rolls across the entire highway.

Origin

Central Highway is the opening stage of Mega Man X, at which point it was simply known as "Highway Stage". It would not receive the name "Central Highway" until the PlayStation Portable remake of Mega Man X, titled Mega Man Maverick Hunter X. It is a highway that gets attacked by Mavericks, necessitating X to head to the scene and assist the Maverick Hunters in fighting back. While here, X gets into a fight with Vile and loses, only to be saved by Zero. Zero then tells X to fight the rest of Sigma's army to grow stronger, setting up the rest of the game.
